About

I’m Ned Coe, and my wife Valerie and I are proud to call Modoc County home. My story isn’t about politics, it’s about service, family tradition, and a deep commitment to the community.

Before stepping into public office, I spent years as a business owner, volunteer and employee. Wearing multiple hats shaped how I lead today: with a focus on accountability, hard work, and creating the conditions for families and businesses to succeed.

With my roles in Farm Bureau, I’ve spent years working alongside U.S. Congressmen, State Senators, California State Assembly Members, and with other County Supervisors building lasting relationships and gaining firsthand experience navigating state and federal government. Those years gave me the tools to open doors, solve problems, and bring critical resources home to Modoc County.

I don’t just represent one group in Modoc County I represent all of us. Through my roles on 17 different Modoc County boards and committees, regional, statewide, and national committees, I have a seat at the table to negotiate for our community on education, transportation, housing, natural resources, and public lands management, no matter the level of government.

I’ve worked side by side with local, state, and federal partners to secure funding for Modoc County:

  ·        $5 million in debt relief for Modoc county

·        $2.5 million dollars in short term financing for the Surprise Valley Health Care District.

·        $1.7 million/year for Modoc County with the passage of the Secure Rural Schools and Roads

·        $856,800/year for Modoc County with the passage of PILT (federal Payment in Lieu of Taxes)

·        $25,000 savings per new home built (increasing the number of building permits, increasing the number of construction jobs and providing substantial savings for homeowners).

·        Secured $20,000 from Rural County Representatives of California ($10,000 to Modoc 4-H, $5,000 CalVada Museum, Cedarville, $5,000 Modoc Harvest – Heritage Fruit Tree Project).

·        Worked for the implementation of the Easy Smart Pay property tax program.

·        Worked to secure a more predictable water supply for the Klamath Irrigation Project.

·        Goose Lake area to mitigate for Endangered Species listings.

But what drives me most is my commitment to my community and the way of life we all cherish. My leadership is built on relationships, integrity, and action, not empty promises.

I’m honored to serve this community, and I’ll continue working every day to make Modoc County stronger, safer, and full of opportunity for every family who calls it home.

On a personal note

I was raised on my grandfather’s ranch in Siskiyou County, where I developed a strong work ethic and a love for Agriculture.  Participation in 4-H and FFA fostered an interest in Leadership, an interest I pursued through college and beyond.

As the incumbent,  I bring 8 years’ experience to the position of Supervisor and a wealth of experience gained from working with people in government, the private and agricultural sectors.  To see a list of my qualifications, please visit that page, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
